The 86-year-old actor, a beloved face in countless Indian households, has been admitted to Mumbai’s Lilavati Hospital since the first week of October, where he is battling life-threatening complications.

Upon admission, doctors diagnosed him with a severe sepsis infection. “We got to know it was a sepsis infection, which has affected all his joints. And since the infection is now in his blood, the recovery has been extremely slow,” Suhas told the media.

The actor was initially kept in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and continues to require extensive medical care, leading to a significant financial strain on his family.

In a heartfelt appeal, his wife Suhas highlighted the lack of a financial safety net for actors. “We never anticipated something like this to happen with us… Unlike government employees who get a pension, actors have no such benefits. So, I would still request everyone to come forward and help us in any way they can,” she stated.
